Upland Bird Deer
do you belive that hunting is wrong? if so why do you?
i hunt with my dad every year for bear, deer, elk, duck, geese, upland game birds, moose, antalope, sheep, etc... but everything i kill i eat i dont let anything waste, yeah i wont lie i have some trophy's here that i'm proud of but 9 out of 10 times i only kill to eat it i was wondering why do people think thats wrong?
Hunting isn't only about shooting something. It's the relaxation and peacefulness that you experience by sitting alone in the wilderness, and the challenge of hitting your target accurately.
I only find hunting wrong when the hunter is completely inept, like the people who shoot a deer in the stomach or some other area that won't kill it immediately. Not only does it tend to spoil the taste of the meat, but the deer has to run and bleed out, or you have to pump a few more rounds into it. Either way, it's not professional, and I don't think that people should hunt until they're a decent shot and are able to hit the deer some place lethal that will take it down with one shot.
But if you're going to actually eat it, and you're not just killing it for no apparent purpose, what's wrong with that? Besides, overpopulation occurs when animals like deer aren't hunted, and that has its own implications.
My dad was an excellent marksman and won several shooting events, and he is proud that every deer that he killed was a one shot kill. He misses it too, the rules here in Ontario are a lot more restrictive than they were in Nova Scotia.
Shooting metal targets on a range just isn't the same.
