Fly Tying Hooks
Fly Tying Hooks
how do I tie the rope to fly a flag on an outdoor flagpole?
I have a pulley on top and a hook to tie to near the bottom
I have a pulley at the top and hook to tie to at the bottom. I am not sure how to attach the flag to the rope. Also, is the rope two pieces or one big loop?any help would be appreciated.(maybe a website that shows how it is done?)
Use the tie-off bar to pull the halyard (line) taut, then secure the halyard in a figure 8 pattern until you've taken up most of the remaining rope. Then simply tuck in the tail-end portion of the rope through the wrapped area and you're done. (This will keep the weight of the colors (flag) and the effects of wind from making the banner slip downward during the course of the flying period. Note: Make sure when you hoist the colors in the first place that it is "truck tight" or all the way to the top (except when it is authorized to be displayed at half-mast).
