Can you tell me what kind of pollinating fly this is (if it is a fly)?

I see quite a few of these buzzing around. They are smaller (by far) than bees, but to my eye look quite clean in line and form. I would love to know the common and scientific names. Can you help?
looks like a black soldier fly/ soldier fly or Hermetia illucens Linnaeus. They feed on decaying plants, but adults are frequently found in daisy flowers.
