I hunt deer on my family's 10 acre woodland in southern wisconsin. The land is mostly woods on a hill with man-made zigzagging trails throughout, but there is a pasture on the top with apple trees. I already have one stand set up at the base of the hill, where 2 paths intersect near a cornfield. There are also white oaks all over the place. At the top pasture, it is an open field with surrounding maples and grassy spots and the apple trees are in one corner. I would like to be able to cover both the apple trees and the woods on the hill. Does anyone have any ideas for a stand/blind spot to cover the top pasture?

I'd set up by that one big Oak tree over to your left.

Scout around and see how you can see what you are wanting to see the best. Even aerial photographs aren't going to show what you can see in person.

Hunting requires leg work and knowledge of the area and the surrounding areas. There are a lot of factors to consider. Wind, sun, neighbors, animals, field of view, bedding areas and the list goes on.

Just do what looks best to you.

unorthadox hunting method?

Been deer hunting all my life and done it all, from black powder to primitive archery. The only way i can get a rush from it anymore is by doing it with my own hands. I jump from my tree stand on top of the deer and slit its throat with my homemade quartz knife. Wanted to know if anyone else was having the fun that I am?

oh come on, everyone knows primitive knives are made of flint.

What are some ways to keep my house cooler in the summer?

I live in Florida and we're renting an old house that is poorly insulated. Our house gets up to 80 degrees even with the a/c set at 70! We close all the blinds, keep all lights off and leave a ceiling fan on in the living room for the dog. The bedrooms seem to get the worst of it and my daughter is only 1 year old. Her room takes forever to cool down and it's too hot for her to go to sleep when she's tired. I know curtains can help but is there a specific weight or kind? Are there any other tricks we can do/use to help cool the house down or better insulate the home so the heat doesn't creep in as much?

You can put some light coloured board in front of blinds so it reflects ALL the light and your room will be very dark without lights ON. And you open windows when it is dark and little cold outside for some fresh air for night and next day.

You can use the school project boards to put on the window.

Browning decal sticker?

hey! i was thinking about getting a pink browning sticker (the browning buckmark) for my car. and i was just wondering, do you have to hunt to have one? i mean like would it be weird if i had one on my car, but i dont hunt?
im from the south and i think the decal's cute.
but i was just wondering what yall think..?

I don't know much about people from there, but if you lived here in Saskatchewan, and I didn't know you, I'd just assume you hunted. However, If I did know you, I would think you should take it off. Hunting accessories are for hunters.
